MCA Architects worked in conjunction with Pickard Chilton on this project for the substantial redevelopment of a late 60’s office block to create the world headquarters for Eaton in Dublin City Centre.
The existing building is divided into two blocks (three and five stories over basement car park level) and the scope involves major structural modifications both internally and to the external envelope. The interior of the building is completely refurbished with a high end specification throughout (including Boardroom facilities) to reflect the prestigious nature of the project.
Externally the existing brickwork façade and glazing will be removed and reconfigured to provide a more context appropriate response to the sensitive architecture of the neighbourhood, whilst also reflecting the corporate nature of the intended use. This will include new stone cladding, vision glass and cast-glass block elements which will mirror the dimensions of the brickwork to the adjacent buildings.
