Clontarf Hospital Blackheath Park, Dublin 3 Client: Clontarf Hospital Services: Design, Project Management

Extensive and detailed project including three new 32 bed wards.

MCA has carried out a number of projects for Clontarf Hospital (formerly the Incorporated Orthopaedic Hospital of Ireland) the first of which was a 96 bed extension to the existing hospital to provide three new 32 bed wards with facilities for physiotherapy, x-ray and out-patient treatment along with new catering and services facilities. The project was carried out in two phases so as to enable the Hospital to continue working throughout the building works.

MCA provided full architectural, project management and interior design for the project. Block A was completed in March 2008; Block B was completed in June 2009.

 

A strong working relationship

Following the success of these projects MCA completed further refurbishment work was undertaken between 2010 and 2015 including a new Pharmacy, Pharmacist’s Office, store and medical waste store, alterations to the Nurses’ Accommodation building and new lifts and ramps were provided to the existing Clontarf Hospital Administration Building.
