As part of National Plan for Radiation Oncology

Wilton, Cork

The Radiation Oncology Centre has been developed under the National Plan for Radiation Oncology which provides for centres in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

The three storey 8,800 m² facility will be the main centre for cancer treatment in the south of Ireland. It will include seven radiotherapy treatment bunkers, brachytherapy and superficial treatment facilities, diagnostic imaging including two CT simulators, and an on-treatment support department.

Natural light and a central atrium

The building capitalizes on the available natural light and a central atrium provides a focal point on each level. Natural tones and planting soften the atmosphere in patient waiting areas, and way finding is enhanced by the department specific colour schemes.
